Q. WHERE IS EDEN STREET FLOWERS LOCATED?

A. Eden Street Flowers has field locations both in Hulls Cove and Bar Harbor. Our Flower Hut is @ 102 State Highway 3 in Hulls Cove, and is a self-service operation open May - September. There is ample parking in our driveway so you can park and pick up flowers. Our property is directly across the street from the Church of our Father, the gorgeous stone church in Hulls Cove.

During the colder months, flowers are picked up at our house, also located at 102 State Highway 3 in Hulls Cove. Head all the way down the driveway to the tall grey house. There is parking down there as well. We have a entryway (to the right) where flower pick up will be during those months.

Q. HOW DO I BEST CARE FOR THE FLOWERS?

  • Keep out of direct sunlight.

  • Place flowers in a clean vase. I keep a bottle brush under the sink just for vases. Do a scrub with warm soapy water after each use.

  • For best results, change water every 2-3 days to extend the life of your flowers. Snip the bottom of the stem - this helps the flower uptake water better.

  • Remove any leaf debris that falls into/touches the water surface.

  • Most of our flowers will have a 7-10 day vase life. Some, like sweet peas, cosmos. or dahlias will be way shorter. Cut that out or pull the whole stem and enjoy the rest.

  • A note on tulips - They gain stem length in the vase. This is part of what differentiates our tulips from grocery stores. Their freshness and harvest window means you will see them grow. It’s truly amazing. If you love the airy look (some say floppy), let them bend and furl. If you prefer a more upright look or somewhere in between, play around with different height vases. As they transform, consider shortening the stem, and switching up the vase entirely. Some customers add fresh water daily and an ice cube to prolong vase life.
