DIY Bucket, Farmers Choice
DIY Bucket, Farmers Choice
From early July through September:
A bulk bucket is a great option if you are looking to source the best of what is currently growing in the field. Each bucket is filled with a variety of focal flowers, filler flowers, and foliage or greenery. We are unable to promise to include any specific flower varieties. The farmers will select a seasonal variety of colors and textures. You can expect to make 4-6 mason jar-size arrangements or bouquets per bucket. PHOTO IS AN EXAMPLE AND NOT WHAT WILL NECESSARILY BE IN THE BUCKET.
For DIY buckets, our clients pick up at our farm in Hulls Cove 1-2 days before the event. If your event will take place on a Saturday, we can have your buckets ready as early as Thursday at 10:30am.
We suggest that you set aside at least a few hours for floral design in the days leading up to your event as it takes time to cut and arrange all the stems! It always takes a little longer than people expect.
We recommend keeping your flowers in a cool, dry space like a basement or air conditioned room, out of direct sunlight and the elements. Please check your buckets when you arrive at your destination after pick-up to make sure they are at least 1/3 full of cold, fresh water, just in case any splashed out in transit. When it comes time to make your arrangements, you’ll need:
A space that allows for a bit of a mess
Lots of table space
Access to water for filling your vases and flower vessels
Clean, sharp clippers or flower shears to cut through all the stems
A receptacle for cut stem debris (preferably compost!)
